Come celebrate tradition and faith in the most traditional Feast of the Divine Holy Spirit from the southern region of Brazil! Originated in Alenquer, Portugal, on the initiative of Queen Santa Isabel in 1226, this festival crossed oceans and continents until it found Brazilian soil in Santo Amaro da Imperatriz/SC, in 1854, brought by Azorean immigrants.
Since then, the Festa do Divino Espírito Santo has been a cultural landmark, evolving over the years to reflect the transformations of society and the orientation of the church. Today, it is a vibrant meeting that combines religion, gastronomy, tradition, culture, art and fun for the whole family.
For four days, visitors can participate in a diverse program, which includes everything from the solemn mass to the Imperial Court parade, including the exciting performance of the Santamarense Philharmonic Band and engaging musical shows. Furthermore, there is an amusement park for all ages and a wide selection of typical dishes and drinks at the bar.
The Feast of the Divine Holy Spirit is more than an event; It is a unique encounter that combines tradition and entertainment in an environment full of historical and cultural significance. Keep an eye on the date of the next event in 2025 so you don't miss this celebration that keeps the essence of Azorean culture alive and strengthens the bonds of community and faith.
